FAQ

Questions trainers actually ask

Short answers. Anything missing: hello@showhands.app.

Do participants need an account or an app?

No. They open showhands.app in any browser, type the session code or scan the QR, and they are in. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

Is it free?

Yes, while Showhands is in beta. A paid plan comes later, billed monthly, and the price and billing details will be shown before you pay anything.

How big a room does it handle?

We load-test with 250 participants joining and answering at the same time. Sub-second responses for the whole room in that test.

Are answers anonymous?

Yes, by default. You see counts and results, not who answered what. If you need names, you can ask participants for a name when they join.

What question types are there?

Multiple choice (single or several answers), word cloud, a 1–5 scale, free text, and ranking. Multiple choice can be scored, which turns the session into a quiz with a leaderboard.

Can I stop a rude answer reaching the big screen?

Yes. You keep a list of blocked words per workspace; answers that trip it are held for your review instead of going live. You can also remove anything from the screen at any time, and audience questions can be held for approval the same way.

Does it work over Zoom or Meet?

Yes. Share the present screen in your call. Participants join from their phones or a second tab exactly as they would in a room.

Can I use it inside my slides?

Yes. The console has slide embeds: the session runs inside your deck.

What do I get after the session?

Every session exports as Excel, PDF and CSV: per-question results, a topic breakdown, the quiz leaderboard and the Q&A log.

Can my team share one workspace?

Yes. Invite people to your workspace with roles, brand the participant pages with your own colours and logo, and issue API keys if you want to automate anything. SSO and MFA are there for accounts that need them.

What happens to my data?

Session results stay available in your console for as long as you keep the account. The details are in the privacy policy.

Can I import questions from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Console → Decks → Import from spreadsheet. Pick a CSV or an Excel file and you get a preview first: how many questions, what is scored, and every row it had to skip. Nothing is written until you confirm. The screen has a sample file you can download to see the column layout.
