If you join a session as a participant
You enter a code and answer. You do not give a name, an email address or an account. The host sees your answers, and sees them as part of the room's results. Do not type personal details into open-text answers unless the host has asked you to.
If you are a host
When we set up your workspace we store your name, email address, workspace name and sign-in details. We also keep a record of sign-in and account events so you can see recent activity on your account. The decks, sessions and results you create are stored so you can run and export them.
PowerPoint and Google Slides add-ons
The add-ons only talk to Showhands to fetch live results for the session code you paste in. The Google Slides add-on stores that code inside the presentation it belongs to, and can draw and update shapes on the slides you point it at. We do not read your Google account details, your other files, or anything outside the results for your code.

On servers in the Bengaluru region, India.
Analytics and cookies
This website asks before it uses Google Analytics. Analytics loads only if you press Accept, and nothing is sent to it if you decline. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to the site.
Who else handles data
We use a small number of services to run Showhands, such as hosting, DNS and analytics from Cloudflare and Google. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Deleting your data
Ask us and we will delete your workspace and its decks and results.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to hello@showhands.app from the email on your workspace. Hosts can also export session results as CSV at any time.
Complaints
If we have not handled something properly, write to us first at the address above.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will email workspace owners.
